NCCD's Initiatives

Adult Protective Services

Adult maltreatment in the US is on the rise and there is a need for services to address this issue which will require effective case management procedures to improve service delivery.

CAIS & JAIS

After an extensive review of existing assessment and classification systems, NCCD has combined elements of the best tools available to assist agencies in dealing with the complex issues of offender treatment and supervision.

Interrupting the Cycle of Violence

Children who witness or are victims of violence are more likely to express violence. NCCD is helping to change the way communities respond to families in crisis.

Mental Health Care in the Justice System

To increase access to physical and mental health services for youth in the juvenile justice system, specifically those in detention, local correctional programs, or in reentry status.

Race and Justice

To foster understanding and resolution of inequities in our justice systems based on racial and ethnic identity. To promote culturally competent practices and policies that recognize the diverse nature of our society.

Reforming Juvenile Justice

NCCD and the Justice Department’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) developed a Comprehensive Strategy for Reducing Youth Violence.

Women and Justice

To inform public policy and promote activism focused on women and girls in the justice system. To promote humane, rehabilitative, and gender-appropriate responses to at-risk and incarcerated women.
